Sharks VIDEO Resources for Preschool | Kindergarten | Pre-K | ESL English Lessons

Sharks are a great topic for teaching ESL Preschoolers and Kindergarten Kids. Why? Because they are so interesting, and young learners are fascinated by them. They also have cool names such as Goblin Shark, Zebra Shark, Tiger shark; more importantly, you can introduce many useful grammar and language points based around sharks (sizes, comparisons, adjectives etc.) and learn some cool shark anatomy, biology, features and habits.

*(Our shark Readers, language points, grammar, and topic structure, have been tested as a prototype, but final designs will be available once our Transportation Unit final designs and resources have all been completed. COMING SOON)

Nevertheless, here are some shark videos, songs and media resources I used during our shark unit that you may find useful.

Educational Videos

Shark Quizzes

After a week or so, once the kids are familiar with recognizing shark species, this guessing the shark quiz is great (Our Shark Readers introduce shark characteristics; large caudal fin, light stripes, spots, wide mouth etc.) you'd be surprised how many sharks they can recognize!

Would You 2024: Shark Species Guessing Game

Another quiz with clear pictures and four options to guess the shark. Has clear pictures and once kids are familiar with shark distinguishing features is fun to play.
